Who is Jillian Bradfield a.k.a JilleyBean Books?
A native of College Park, GA, Jillian Bradfield is a proud product of both the Fulton County and Atlanta Public School Systems. She is a graduate of Frederick Douglass High School in the City of Atlanta, Savannah State University where she obtained a B.S. in Sociology, and Shorter University where she earned an M.A. in Organizational.
Jillian feels her unique experiences at these learning institutions helped shape her into the woman and writer she is today. Jillian credits her love for writing to past educators as well as her parents who always encouraged her to write with purpose.
Though new to the children’s book scene, Jillian has been writing since she was 9 years old. “My goal is to let young people, girls, in particular, know that I understand what they are going through. My goal is to speak to the unpopular girl, the gossip girl, those that feel invisible and every girl in between. I also want to encourage positive dialogue between girls and young women and show them communication is key when understanding one another”.
What is Write On Girl!?
Write On Girl! is a yearlong guided journal designed to engage, encourage, and motivate preteen girls to make smart decisions and express themselves through journaling. The journal includes guided writing prompts, coloring pages, and interesting topics aimed at 11 to 16-year-old girls. The goal of the journal is to get girls to express themselves by writing.
